The E litter pups are here and are already melting everyone’s hearts.
Please meet Ecco, Elsie, Elroy, Eleanor, Euan, Eden, Eloise, Emerald and Everly.
These playful pups are starting their two-year training journey to become life-changing Assistance Dogs. And they’re doing it at our newly renovated, innovative Puppy Kindergarten in Waterfall, Sydney! It’s here that they’ll spend the first 12 weeks of their early learning under the guidance of research-backed foundational training and 24/7 supervision, carefully tailored to nurture their development and socialisation skills.
Our Puppy Kindy is an exciting initiative to help us double our capacity to train and place more Assistance Dogs over the next few years. This means more Australians with disability and their families will receive the critical help they need, faster.
The little E litter pups are already learning important cues including (but definitely not limited to!) sit, down, yes, let’s go, wait, toilet, come and mat.
These future life-changers are starting to show their unique personalities – much to the delight of their trainers. Ecco has revealed that she’s the chattiest of the group and loves to have her voice heard, while her brother Elroy is definitely the cuddliest! And the Most Improved award goes to Elsie for learning to sit – she was slower to learn it, but now proudly shows off her sitting all the time!
These adorable pups are set to graduate from kindy in June, ready to excel in their next phase of Puppy Education training.
Emerald, Eloise, Euan and their siblings will then continue to develop their manners and training in the community until they’re ready to start their Advanced Training with Assistance Dogs Australia’s (ADA) expert training team at roughly 14 months old.
We look forward to sharing more updates with you about the E litter’s progress.
