From time to time, dogs in our training program change careers from continuing their journey as Assistance Dogs. While they may not go on to a working role, these dogs still have a lot to offer – they’re friendly, well-socialised, and have received a great foundation in training and care.
We’re now looking for pet homes where these beautiful dogs can enjoy a relaxed life as part of a loving home.
Career Change dogs have spent time in our Assistance Dog training program but will not be placed in a working role. This could be due to:
These dogs have typically experienced home life with volunteers, outings in dog-friendly public places, and basic obedience training using positive methods. While they are not trained or suitable for public access as Assistance Dogs, they make wonderful pets for the right home
