Dogtober is a fantastic way to get involved with Assistance Dogs, have some fun and help train another 20 super pups to help people with disabilities.
Dogtober is all about lending a paw by creating your own doggie themed event or being sponsored to undertake a challenge which will raise much needed funds and awareness.
Just as puppies come in all shape and size sizes so too can yours. They can be as big or small as you want, they can include your family, friends, work colleagues, neighbours, your local school or sporting club – anyone and everyone you know – it’s up to you!
This year's event: Thursday 6th October 2016, Martin Place, Sydney.

Assistance Dogs Awareness Week
Each year in the last week of November Australia goes to the dogs to celebrate the work of Assistance Dogs Australia dog gooders.
This year's event: Thursday 17th November 2016, Martin Place, Sydney.
Assistance Dogs Australia week is our week to raise awareness for what we do, who we help and how we make a difference for people with disabilities.
Come and join us, meet our team, shake a pup in training's paw, talk to our recipients and fantastic volunteers.
While we celebrate the change we can make in the lives of people all over Australia every day, we also take one day out of the year to raise awareness, pawsing for our cause and demonstrating the ways our dogs give freedom and independence to people with disabilities.
Assistance Dogs go through rigorous training to prepare for their work supporting people with disabilities and we like to celebrate their graduation in style. An Assistance Dogs Graduation Ceremony is attended by supporters, ambassadors, and volunteers who eagerly watch the graduating Assistance Dogs receive their certificate and take off their L Plates.
