Engadine RSL and North Sydney Leagues Club have dug deep to give to the paw as part of the CDSE funding initiative.

On Friday, the cute and cuddly Assistance puppy in training, Flipper, headed to North Sydney Leagues Club to collect their generous donation of $5,000 which will go towards training more super pups, so they will eventually be able to give freedom and independence to people with physical disabilities.

Flipper also thanked Engadine RSL for their generous donation of $2,500 at a special ceremony on Tuesday morning, presenting the RSL with a certificate. The RSL then made a further donation of $750 to Assistance Dogs Australia.

In attendance were Assistance Dogs Australia’s Top Dog, CEO Richard Lord, Engadine RSL’s President Allan Nichols, Engadine RSL’s General Manager Mr Brett Salter and of course the star of the presentation, Flipper!

Assistance Dogs Australia’s Top Dog, CEO Richard Lord said, “Assistance Dogs Australia appreciates the donation and support that Engadine RSL and North Sydney Leagues Club have made. As we receive no regular government funding we really rely on the generosity of the community so we can continue to enhance the quality of life for people with physical disabilities.”

The Assistance Dogs’ puppies in training will eventually undertake tasks that are difficult if not impossible for people in wheelchairs to undertake – tasks such as opening and closing doors, answering the telephone, retrieving dropped objects and even getting bottles of water from the fridge.
