Australia is doing it for the dogs!
Australia will go to the dogs in the last week of November to celebrate the work of Assistance Dogs Australia’s dog gooders.
Assistance Dogs Australia week is our week to raise awareness for what we do, who we help and how we make a difference for people with disabilities.
Come and join us, meet our team, shake a pup in training's paw, talk to our recipients and fantastic volunteers. We will also be doing dog training demonstrations and selling our great range of Christmas Merchandise.
Where will we be?
Melbourne - Bourke Street Mall between 10am and 2pm on Thursday the 26th November
Sydney - Martin Place between 10am and 2pm on Friday the 27th November
Perth - Forest Mall between 10am and 2pm on Friday the 27th November
Winston Hills - Winston Hills Mall between 10am and 2pm on Friday the 27th November
Assistance Dogs Australia trains Labradors and Golden Retrievers to perform tasks that people with physical disabilities find difficult if not impossible to achieve. Tasks such as picking up dropped items, pressing the button at the traffic lights, paying the cashier at the shops, answering the telephone, opening and closing doors or getting bottles of water out of the fridge.
While we celebrate the change we can make in the lives of people all over Australia every day, we also take one day out of the year to raise awareness, pawsing for our cause and demonstrating the ways our dogs give freedom and independence to people with physical disabilities.
