Country Crooner Brian Letton Lends a Paw This Dogtober
The Grinch may have stolen Christmas, but the pups at Assistance Dogs
Australia have stolen the whole month of October – renaming it Dogtober
of course!
But the pups are not alone in their plight,
with Brian Letton lending a paw. Dubbed as ‘Australia’s number one
country crooner’, Letton teamed up with Assistance Dogs Australia
to put on a very special Dogtober event.
Performing a concert
at Canterbury Hurlstone Park RSL on Sunday 18th Dogtober, all proceeds
were donated towards training Assistance Dogs Australia’s super pups, so
they will eventually be able to give freedom and independence to people
with physical disabilities.
Other performers included such talents as Wally the Worker, Nellie Dargin and Matthew Letton.
The Brian Letton Concert was a great success and the pups at Assistance Dogs Australia would like to thank Brian Letton, Nellie Dargin, Wally the Worker and Matthew Letton for putting on a great show, Pauline Hanson for singing a marvellous duet with Brian and Bev Wallace, without whom the event would not have taken place!
This is Assistance Dogs Australia’s first ever Dogtober – a fundraising and awareness month to be held annually.
Assistance
Dogs Australia trains Labradors and Golden Retrievers to perform tasks
that are difficult if not impossible for people with physical
disabilities to undertake – tasks such as opening and closing doors,
answering the telephone, retrieving dropped objects and even getting
bottles of water from the fridge.
