PAWsome news for TODAY Extra and its viewers!

13 November 2017

Watch out, David and Sonia — The Nine Network's morning show, TODAY Extra has added a new member to its team, and she's sure to steal the spotlight! Her name is Lexi. She is full of personality with big brown eyes to die for, although as indicated by her L plates, she still has a lot to learn.

Perhaps we should mention one quality that makes her extra special: she is an Assistance Pup-in-training!

We have partnered with the network to show viewers Lexi's journey over the next 12 to 15 months, en route to becoming a life-transforming Assistance Dog, capable of providing freedom and independence to people with a wide range of disabilities.

Over the coming weeks and months, Sonia and David will take viewers behind the scenes into the world of a Puppy Educator; the volunteers responsible for the early training of our adorable pups.

Viewers will learn more about the astonishing skills this chocolate Lab will acquire; how rewarding it is to be a Puppy Educator; and how the experts train a dog to have a vocabulary of over 50 cues or commands.

We hope an insight into this special journey will inspire people (singles and families) to become Puppy Educators and raise a dog like Lexi.

We really can't do it without you. No Puppy Educators, no Assistance Dogs.
