Puppies in need of homes

Puppies in need of homes

12 October 2017

It's chocolate overload here at Assistance Dogs Australia HQ.

Adorable, cuddly choccy Super Pups have been arriving and melting hearts as they begin the first stage of their journey towards becoming life-transforming Assistance Dogs of the future.

We are URGENTLY looking for Puppy Educators - people in the Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and the Gold Coast areas - to take care of one of these adorable new pups in their home. More pups are on the way... all in need of a loving home.

For every dog that is painstakingly paired with a future client, there is a Puppy Educator. A Puppy Parent; someone who becomes the puppy’s loving carer and basic trainer for 12-15 months until that pup is ready to continue its journey onto Advanced training and then finally to have an extraordinary impact on someone’s life.

And the good news is that Puppy Educators don’t need to be experienced dog trainers. Volunteer Puppy Educator Lisa Clements from Woonoona, NSW says, “You just need to have a safe and loving home, and a willingness to have fun and learn along the way. Assistance Dogs Australia pay for all the pup’s food, veterinary expenses, training support and group puppy classes. You’re completely supported and encouraged from day one.

“From my perspective as a Puppy Educator, it has been a wonderful experience. It’s a fantastic opportunity to test having a puppy in the family before committing to your own dog.”
