The Harold and Yogi Story
Christmas has come early for Caufield North resident, Harold Hartfield with the arrival of his new companion dog, Yogi - who is definitely smarter than the average bear.
For the newest Assistance Dogs team, the mind doggling pawsibilities are endless. Yogi will open the door to a new kind of freedom and independence for Harold, who has already been out more since he received Yogi, taking him for daily walks.
“He’s already gotten me out more. Yesterday we went to the park and the beach where Yogi went for a swim,†said Harold.
Yogi can pick things up for Harold if he drops them, he brings things to Harold, such as the phone and he is trained to alert bark if Harold is ever in trouble.
“He’s marvellous because I live alone and having him here is so nice,†Harold said. “His bed is just beside mine, he waits for me to wake up and then comes over for a cuddle. He’s great. He’s lovely and very affectionate. He’s such a good boyâ€
